About Allcot Media

Allcot Media was founded in 2001, when I began my freelance writing career, and incorporated in 2015 as an extension of my personal brand. The company, today, reflects nearly 20 years of print and digital editorial experience, Web content writing, and public relations for top brands.

I personally deliver full-scale content strategy, writing, and editing for B2B and B2C brands as well as top digital publications. Through a trusted network of partners, I also oversee Web development, SEO, editorial management, fractional COO services, and public relations and earned media to build credibility, visibility and long-term search value across the open Web and emerging AI platforms.

About Dawn Allcot

My background is rooted in journalism and print and digital publishing. Early in my career, I launched, redesigned and helmed trade and niche consumer magazines, including Paintball Sports and Club Systems International. Today, my online work regularly appears on major outlets including GoBankingRates, Time, CNET, Bankrate, Parade, and TheStreet, and is syndicated on MSN, Yahoo, Nasdaq, AOL and others.

I cover personal finance, technology, real estate, travel, and lifestyle topics with an emphasis on clarity and usefulness. My editorial experience and newsroom chops shape how I approach every project, whether I’m writing an article, shaping a content strategy, or helping a brand translate expertise into stories people want to read.

Clients work with me because they want thoughtful, experienced editorial direction. They are not willing to settle for low-quality copywriting, templated content, or generic AI output.

In addition to client work, I publish Geek Travel Guide, an established digital publication focused on family travel, technology, and entertainment. Running an owned media property keeps me closely connected to the realities of audience growth, SEO, content performance, and platform change.

I seek to mentor new and advancing writers at every opportunity, serving as a two-time panelist for the ASJA (American Society of Journalists and Authors) conference and as an active member in several writing mastermind and networking groups. I also offer a course for beginning content writers, with additional modules coming soon to address key content marketing tactics.

I live in a suburb of New York City with my husband, two teenagers, and a clowder of cats who, let’s face it, are the most demanding “clients” any service provider will ever experience.
